FAQ - Backgammon

How do I start a game?

In the Lobby you can click on the tab bars to switch between the different rooms. Currently we have four rooms: "Match", "Single Game", "Sit & Go" and "Tournaments". Once in the room of your choice, you can choose your preferred stake. You can then either sit down at an empty table (just double-click on the table line) and wait for an opponent. You can also join a waiting player with a double-click or register for a jackpot or tournament (if open for registration).

What happens if I am disconnected in the middle of a game?

When getting disconnected your extra time turns into your reconnect time. In any case your opponent can still finish his move and raise his winning chances. If you can't get back on time, Snowie settles the position and you will be charged a penalty. You can read more about our Snowie settlements here. However, keep in mind that there is no Snowie settlement for jackpots and tournaments (you either win by bearing all your checkers off or when your opponent runs out of time).

Are the dice fair?

TrueMoneyGames uses a random number generator that is based on a hardware diode. This method offers our customers the most truly random dice available, even precision dice don't come anywhere near these results. Feel free to check out our security section for more information on this topic.

I have received a message "Maximum number of watch sessions reached". What does that mean?

You can only watch one session at a time.

I would like to save my session chat, is that possible?

Yes, just right-click in the chat field and you'll be prompted to save the chat.

I see all those tournaments and would like to join. How can I do that?

Registration for our tournaments usually opens 2 hours before the tournament starts, for larger events the registration time will get extended; the actual time is displayed in the "registration" column. To register, just double-click on the tournament, agree to the rules and you're ready to play!

I don't seem to have access to the doubling cube, why is that?

This is because a) you have either activated the "automatic roll" feature, b) it's a so-called crawford game (The player who reaches the match point is not allowed to cube in the following game) or c) the cube is already at a level where turning it again would make no difference to the outcome of the match (including the special case of 1-pointers).

How many backgammon sessions can I play simultaneously?

One of the benefits our new Backgammon 3.0 software offers is multi-tabling, it is now possible to actively play up to 4 sessions at the same time.
