We use an Award-Winning backgammon program based on neural network technology for our software. Its playing level is so high that it wins consistently against the strongest human backgammon professionals. Also, in comparison to all other backgammon programs the performance is outstanding.
TrueMoneyGames is proud to be using this Award-Winning software to protect players on our real money server. Every single game played on our server will be analyzed by and the detailed results pass through sophisticated algorithms. Any advantage a player could obtain by using Snowie or a similar program for playing decisions would thus be detected. A misuse of these programs will result in an immediate ban from our server.
Software protection
When playing backgammon for money on the Internet, unfinished games or matches might be an issue. This can happen for two reasons:
- One player loses his Internet connection.
- One player decides to quit the game on purpose.
In the first case the disconnected player has to be protected in some way. It can happen to anybody that his Internet connection breaks and it wouldn't be a nice surprise to reconnect and to find out that the match was forfeited due to the disconnection.
On the other hand, if your opponent quits on purpose because he has a losing position you should receive your fair share of the money.
One solution that suits both cases is to introduce saved matches. Whenever both opponents are back online they would have the opportunity to continue their broken session. However, this solution generates many other problems. First of all, the whole amount of money that is in play has to be frozen for both players. This money would not be available until the session is finished. If you have several unfinished sessions you won't be able to start a new session with all your money being frozen!
Additionally, what happens if the disconnected player comes back but by that time the other one started a session with somebody else or just had to leave the server to go to dinner?
Instead of all this trouble, we have implemented Award-Winning software into our system. If a game is interrupted for more than 3 minutes the software evaluates the current position and the match score and settles the money pot accordingly. Each player receives his fair share of the pot. Certainly, if a player has no chance to win anymore, his opponent gets the full pot or even more than that (in case of money game with a high gammon threat). That means that no player can have any advantage in quitting the game on purpose, however if he loses his Internet connection he also wouldn't have any disadvantage.
Nevertheless, to support fairness between players and to motivate them to always finish their games, we introduced the concept of '2 Free Disconnect'. This feature has been removed with our Backgammon 3.0 software though. Instead we charge a 20% penalty whenever a player fails to reconnect in time.
Suppose you are a 70%-30% favorite to win the match. Your opponent leaves the table and doesn't have his Free Disconnect left anymore. Then the pot will be split 90-10.
