TrueMoneyGames offers online backgammon tournaments every hour of every day, for fun or for money.
Sit & Go
A Sit & Go is basically a knock-out backgammon tournament. All Sit & Go have a number of participants that is a power of 2, i.e. the number of players can be 2, 4, 8, 16 and so on. The players buy in for a certain stake and are then randomly paired with each other and play backgammon matches to a certain match length. The winners of each round continue the tournament and are paired according to the drawsheet. This process keeps repeating until in the end the finals will be played between 2 players and the money will be assigned accordingly.
Backgammon Tournaments
Backgammon tournaments are special Sit & Go. They start at a certain time and the registration is usually 30-60 minutes before the tournament starts. If the number of participants is not a power of two (as it is for Sit & Go) byes are given to random players, which advance one round without playing.
Often added money is put to the prize pool of a tournament. This money comes from TrueMoneyGames in addition to the entry fees of the players.
Sit & Go and Tournament Agreement
By accepting this agreement you confirm that you are familiar with the rules and modalities of the automated Sit & Go / Tournaments:
You have a maximum of 5 minutes per move (left clock) and a certain amount of time for the whole match, depending on the matchlength (this time is shown with the clock on the right). The move-clock will go back to 5 minutes after a move was made in time. The match-clock will count down whenever it's your turn to move. Once you run out of time, your game is forfeited and you lose the match. Hence there will be NO Snowie settlement in the Sit & Go or Tournament room. Notice that you are responsible for a good Internet connection since none of the clocks will stop if you are offline. The client will allow other sessions being played simultaneously to the Sit & Go matches, so make sure you either play fast enough, or you may want to finish those other sessions prior to registering for a Sit & Go. In the unlikely event of internal technical problems of the server, TrueMoneyGames reserves the right to reimburse the players' stakes only and not the actual equity in the specific position before such an incident might occur.
Here is a brief summary of the the main differences compared to our regular money games and matches:
- different timing (max. time per move, fixed time for the whole match)
- no Snowie settlement for unfinished sessions
- matches cannot be made private
Once you are registered for a Sit & Go or Tournament and the necessary number of players is reached, the Sit & Go or Tournament will automatically start and unregistering is not possible anymore. If you are disconnected after having registered to a Sit & Go or Tournament, your registration for the Sit & Go will be automatically cancelled, but your registration for the Tournament will stay valid. TrueMoneyGames reserves the right to publish the name of the winner when the prize value exceeds €1,000.
